Tour of the original Neptune SCULPTURE made of fine sandstone in the entrance hall for weddings on the ground floor, created in the years 1875 - 1877 by the sculptor Bohuslav Schnirch.

Martin Lukáč sets off for New York in 2024. He doesn’t run away – he searches. He leaves the comfortable position of a recognized artist whose works are part of important art collections and heads to an environment where he is “just another painter”. The Big Apple becomes a challenge for him – a port that offers the opportunity to abandon established patterns and embark on a journey of transformation. Looking at Lukáč’s work in NYC, it is clear that the city that never sleeps is a source of constant energy and unexpected encounters for him. In the chaos of the city streets, among countless sensations, a new imagination is born. In an environment where different approaches and artistic expressions intersect, it becomes clear how the pulsating rhythm of the city enters his painting palette. Each new painting is a reaction to this world that constantly asks new questions.

The dance workshop led by Tereza Ondrová and Temporary YOUNG (David Králík, Emma Fiala, Natalie Tun) is based on the presence of the body, the cathartic dimension of humor that is inscribed in the body expression and gestures of each person. It is about the joy of moving together or being able to dance together. It is a space to meet the work of Tereza Ondrová and Temporary YOUNG, but also to make new friends - as the workshop is for general public, no level of dance training is needed. Important is the motivation and desire to move together, even on the basis of playful rules or instructions. Dance is not ephemeral. It is living, breathing, pulsating, sweaty evidence of what makes us fundamentally human.

The first part of the workshop starts at 6 pm in the Rudolfinum Hall.

The Střešovice tram depot in Prague houses a unique collection of vehicles and other artifacts that recount the history of public transport in the capital of the Czech Republic. It was opened in May of 1993 by the Prague Public Transit Company (DPP) as the "Museum of Public Transport in Prague".  The part of the permanent collection, which is always on view, includes forty historic vehicles. Other exhibits include models, photographs, historical documents, tickets, drawings and route maps.

Artist Oldřich Kulhánek is well known to the Czech public mainly because of the banknotes that almost everyone carries around in their wallets. However, his artistic contributions extend far beyond banknotes. This guided tour will introduce you to aspects of his work, which we were unable to include in our exhibition.

Clam-Gallas Palace in the Old Town of Prague ranks among the most prominent architectural monuments of Prague and the Czech Republic. One of the prime works of Prague Baroque architecture, it is a splendid example of historical housing and the lifestyle of then aristocrats.

The intertwined lives of Anna-Eva Bergman (1909-1987) and Hans Hartung (1904-1989) are unique in the history of twentieth century artist couples. Their careers covered a first meeting in 1920s Paris, a separation in 1937, the Second World War, and a final reunion in 1952. Despite their closeness they remained totally singular in their styles, constantly sharpening each other’s artistic approaches.  
It is this interplay of difference and commonality that this exhibition explores. Bergman and Hartung closely share the same sources of inspiration: the natural elements, the far reaches of the cosmos, and the language of music, but each interprets them in an inimitable way. Though ultimately different, the two painters often cross paths in fruitful intersections that form a shared place; somewhere to live together, in painting.  
Organised in cooperation with Fondation Hartung-Bergman, this exhibition places these artists together in dialogue for the first time ever. Alongside masterpieces from major turning points in their careers, never before seen sketches and archival material enrich our view into their worlds, including photographs, studio equipment, correspondences, and mutual gifts.   
Anna-Eva Bergman & Hans Hartung: And We’ll Never Be Parted opens on 5 June 2025, and is accompanied by a richly illustrated catalogue with contributions by Theo Carnegy-Tan, Pierre Wat, Thomas Schlesser, Pauline Mari, Catherine Millet, and Camille Morineau.

Czech-American artist duo Kristyna and Marek Milde have long explored the language of the everyday to address the complex relationship between humans and the environment. The Call of the Forest presents a dynamic selection of new, ongoing, and earlier works that examine the dichotomies of nature and culture, highlighting a unique artistic approach that they have developed over more than a decade of work. 
For this exhibition, Kristyna and Marek Milde focus on the idea that forests and cities are intertwined living entities. Their works use the motif of the tree to represent not only endurance and growth but also the symbolic connection between trees and humans, thus turning the forest into much more than just a physical space. 
Kristyna and Marek Milde’s exploration of the theme spans a diverse range of media, including sculpture, installation, animation, and collage. Among the new works presented are Arbomobile (2025) and The Call of the Forest (2025), both created for Kunsthalle Praha. In Arbomobile a New York taxi has been transformed into a living sculpture filled with trees that are native to North America and were later introduced to Europe. The Call of the Forest is an immersive animation created from tree tattoos collected through an open call, illustrating humankind’s deep-rooted longing to connect with nature. 
Their ongoing site-specific installation In-Tree-Net blurs the boundaries between indoors and outdoors by using trees to mimic engineering systems, such as pipes and cables, that deliver vital resources to buildings. By bringing nature inside, the artists reveal a link between the urban and natural environment that is often obscured.  
In each work, the artists transfigure mundane objects and engage directly with materials rather than simply representing them. Through this fusion of poetry and realism The Call of the Forest invites audiences to ask fundamental questions about the natural systems that we depend on but usually take for granted. 
This exhibition is part of the Kunsthalle Praha Invites series, which supports Czech artists in developing new, research-based projects.
