The Gas Industry Museum on the Pražská plynárenská premises in Prague 4 – Michle will be open to the public,
and visitors will also be provided with expert commentary.
Visitors will learn about the history and development of the gas industry and the use of gas, and will see original artifacts and models of various gas-related equipment, historical gas appliances, publications, period photographs, and films.
Among the museum’s curiosities and rarities are an oval gas pipe from Charles Bridge dating from 1878, a Neo-Rococo Villeroy & Boch castle gas stove from the 1870s, a “Bavaria” gas film projector and a “Laterna Magica” gas slide projector from the late 19th century, a gas-powered hat shaper from England, a waffle maker from Germany, a Czech Moretta automatic washing machine with gas-heated water, Art Nouveau gas interior chandeliers, a gas-powered mangle, a gas refrigerator, and a number of historic gas-powered coffee roasters.
